Synthetic Drugs: Are they Deadly?

SYNTHETIC DRUGS

Synthetic drugs, while often sold over the counter at gas stations and convenience stores, can be deadly. Called “spice,” “K2” or “bath salts” and disguised as incense or potpourri, these dangerous substances are labeled “not for human consumption” to skirt the law, but they are more than 100 times stronger than marijuana and lead to a host of side effects. In 2011, there were 28,531 spice-related ER visits.
