Michigan Addiction Statistics

SUBSTANCE ABUSE

The state of Michigan is ranked the 12th highest rate of past-month illicit drug use in the United States (2013-2014). In addition, Michigan ranks 10th in the nation for overall drug usage problems. 9.8% of Michigan residents admitted to using illicit drugs in the past 30 days, from 2013-2014. In 2013, it was reported that almost $75 million was spent on inpatient and outpatient treatment in the state. Michigan is not alone in this, and it is important to take action were action is needed in local communities.
